When it comes to Affiliate marketing how many times have you seen this very same question as the title of this post?
Why do people keep asking ” Can you really make money with Affiliate marketing?” I guess in part because people really do ask that question and that’s O.K but I have a big problem with how some people who will try to say to you “…you can make money and never have to work at a job again”! My immediate reaction is – Talk to the hand and go sell your hype somewhere else!
The fact is that no matter what you do, there is work involved one way or another and affiliate marketing is a job whether you are doing it part time or full time!
Am I being a little harsh – maybe!
I think I am getting very tired of people who string others along for no better purpose than to make money themselves, without being open and honest in what is involved.
I honestly believe that a person can make an income with affiliate marketing, but I also feel that you need to come from the mindset that you are going to need learn how do things, that you have to be realistic and that you need to WANT to work!
Becoming an affiliate marketer means making a commitment and while this job can fit with your other “day time” job, family and life, the fact is you need to be consistent in what you are doing, to make this job work for you.
Along with consistency is building trust and when I say that what I mean is choosing good products and services that you believe in and know will help others solve their problems whether that be health, lifestyle, advertising or what ever that means to you. I think what drives me crazy is having people come to me promoting some affiliate program that they would never use themselves or just as bad the person who will join some kind of “program” and know nothing about it…will someone please explain the logic to this?
Building trust means building relationships in a variety of ways from being social, writing good content that will really be useful, answering questions and showing yourself as a person who will help others and lol being consistent in what you do.
Sometimes I really do wonder about people and their hype and I really do understand why “affiliate marketing” has developed such a terrible reputation. Maybe we need to take a stand and say..
“Can affiliate marketing work? It sure can when you have the drive and the willingness to learn how to do it properly. Affiliate marketing is a job and like any job you need to learn skills and sorry you wont be quitting your day job for quite a while and maybe that is O.K also!”
Tell me where I am wrong?
