Friday News Blogging Tips
Actually I want to pass on two blogging tips this Friday news and I hope that you will pay attention
1. Start using good and attention grabbing images on blog posts! The best images you can use are images that you have taken yourself, but any image ( that is legal) is going to impact on a blog post in ways that your text cant do! Images are also great for SEO from the time you upload them to your computer to when you use them on your blog post and using targeted keywords in your title, alt and description text for the images. Be sure to upload images to your computer using a dash (-) between the words you are using keeping the wording short but descriptive.
There are many places you can get free to use images to upload for you blog including
Everystockphoto – Everystockphoto is a search engine for free photos and includes images from many different sources and licenses.
Fotor – Fotor currently contains 228,452,941 free stock photos and hosts over 190 million free Creative Commons images from many online sources. Adding an image to your blog is easy. You simply grab the embed code for your selected image and the code will contain all necessary CC attribution.
Pixabay – Pixabay is a repository for public domain images: free vectors, drawings and photos. You can freely use any image from this website in digital and printed format, for personal and commercial use, without attribution requirement to the original author.
Don’t forget that when dowloading images, be sure to see what the licence agreement is and if you are allowed then use a service such as PicMonkey to add some excitement to you images.
Are there any favorite places you go to grab good and great images for your blog?
2. Distraction…distraction…distraction! We live in a time where everything can distract us. When we are on our PC’s, we get distracted by chats, notifications and life. Now think about being on a Tablet or phone and you are even more distracted. When writing a blog post keep in mind that people are going to be distracted and keep your writing simple and use short paragraphs. You want people to read you whole post, if it is too lengthy or the paragraphs are too long, you are inviting people to not stay around!
We have had a great week on the Adlandpro Blogging community as you can see by the number of posts people have done..Kudos to all of you who are writing and if you are ready to start writing come on in 🙂
A couple of very good forums that you should go visit are…
Myrna Ferguson’s very popular forum “Let us Celebrate with the Native Americans“
Patricia Bartch has a great forum “All Things Christmas“. Now I just happen to know that on this forum you will see recipes, music, some beautiful cards and some great stories for the holiday season
I hope that you enjoyed this edition of the Friday News and if you have any questions or comments about any of these stories, please let me know…now as always a bit of inspirations for all of you to get you in the mood for success
This is a song that Patricia shared on her Christmas forum that I thought you would enjoy
The Gold Wrapping Paper
Once upon a time, there was a man who worked very hard just to keep food on the table for his family. This particular year a few days before Christmas, he punished his little five-year-old daughter after learning that she had used up the family’s only roll of expensive gold wrapping paper.
As money was tight, he became even more upset when on Christmas Eve he saw that the child had used all of the expensive gold paper to decorate one shoe box she had put under the Christmas tree. He also was concerned about where she had gotten money to buy what was in the shoe box.
Nevertheless, the next morning the little girl, filled with excitement, brought the gift box to her father and said, “This is for you, Daddy!”
As he opened the box, the father was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, now regretting how he had punished her.
But when he opened the shoe box, he found it was empty and again his anger flared. “Don’t you know, young lady,” he said harshly, “when you give someone a present, there’s supposed to be something inside the package!”
The little girl looked up at him with sad tears rolling from her eyes and whispered: “Daddy, it’s not empty. I blew kisses into it until it was all full.”
The father was crushed. He fell on his knees and put his arms around his precious little girl. He begged her to forgive him for his unnecessary anger.
An accident took the life of the child only a short time later. It is told that the father kept this little gold box by his bed for all the years of his life. Whenever he was discouraged or faced difficult problems, he would open the box, take out an imaginary kiss, and remember the love of this beautiful child who had put it there.
In a very real sense, each of us has been given an invisible golden box filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children, family, friends and God. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.
